The Making of a LEADER!

This week I had the privilege of sending off a son in the Lord.  Brandon & his wife Judy & their three kids are moving from Dallas to Connecticut.

Miraculously God opened the door for this to happen.  It was a very quick work.  Brandon shared on “The Making of a LEADER”.

It is from the life of Moses but it is also from Brandon’s life as well.

Here are my notes from the message, you can listen to it in the media section.  Blessings

Acts 7:17. ““As the time drew near when God would fulfill his promise to Abraham, the number of our people in Egypt greatly increased. But then a new king came to the throne of Egypt who knew nothing about Joseph. This king exploited our people and oppressed them, forcing parents to abandon their newborn babies so they would die. “At that time Moses was born—a beautiful child in God’s eyes. His parents cared for him at home for three months. When they had to abandon him, Pharaoh’s daughter adopted him and raised him as her own son. Moses was taught all the wisdom of the Egyptians, and he was powerful in both speech and action.

“One day when Moses was forty years old, he decided to visit his relatives, the people of Israel. He saw an Egyptian mistreating an Israelite. So Moses came to the man’s defense and avenged him, killing the Egyptian. Moses assumed his fellow Israelites would realize that God had sent him to rescue them, but they didn’t.”

Acts of the Apostles 7:17-25 NLT

The good the bad the ugly God works it out.

““The next day he visited them again and saw two men of Israel fighting. He tried to be a peacemaker. ‘Men,’ he said, ‘you are brothers. Why are you fighting each other?’ “But the man in the wrong pushed Moses aside. ‘Who made you a ruler and judge over us?’ he asked. ‘Are you going to kill me as you killed that Egyptian yesterday?’ When Moses heard that, he fled the country and lived as a foreigner in the land of Midian. There his two sons were born.”

Acts of the Apostles 7:26-29 NLT

““Forty years later, in the desert near Mount Sinai, an angel appeared to Moses in the flame of a burning bush. When Moses saw it, he was amazed at the sight. As he went to take a closer look, the voice of the LORD called out to him, ‘I am the God of your ancestors—the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.’ Moses shook with terror and did not dare to look. “Then the LORD said to him, ‘Take off your sandals, for you are standing on holy ground. I have certainly seen the oppression of my people in Egypt. I have heard their groans and have come down to rescue them. Now go, for I am sending you back to Egypt.’ “So God sent back the same man his people had previously rejected when they demanded, ‘Who made you a ruler and judge over us?’ Through the angel who appeared to him in the burning bush, God sent Moses to be their ruler and savior. And by means of many wonders and miraculous signs, he led them out of Egypt, through the Red Sea, and through the wilderness for forty years.”

Acts of the Apostles 7:30-36 NLT

The first 40 - in the Palace

The second 40 - in the desert

The third 40 - in the wilderness

When you step out in faith God will meet you.

God was showing Moses you are somebody.

Showing you that the genuineness of your faith is valid.  He does it through trials.

God says, I'm going to spoil you with my presence.

I'm learning not to pray for the trials to leave my life .  You may be praying for growth to stop in your life.

"No discipline is enjoyable while it is happening—it’s painful! But afterward there will be a peaceful harvest of right living for those who are trained in this way.”

Hebrews 12:11 NLT

God had a different plan for his life.

Moses had a plan to be the next pharaoh.

Just because someone rejects you may be an indication of God's promotion.

If you wait on the lord just trust him, light will shine on your way.

You are impregnated with so much it's got to be released in you.

God was trying to pull out of Moses the intercessor...God is all knowing.

The environment may not be conducive to the gift.

“That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day. For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.”  2 Corinthians 4:16-18 NLT

In the wilderness there is joy.  He had two kids.

Excavation- God pulling out of us.

You can't make any withdrawals without making deposits.

At times God squeezes us to draw out potential.

In the fire...when I see the reflection in the gold I'll pull it out.

“For our dying bodies must be transformed into bodies that will never die; our mortal bodies must be transformed into immortal bodies.”

1 Corinthians 15:53 NLT

There is a leader a warrior coming out of you.

Just RELAX!

Life can be so filled with stress and pressureDifficulties can surround us and press against us.  Rather than stressing out it is time for us to CHILL OUT.  We must learn how to RELAX!

and to give you who are TROUBLED rest with us when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels,

2 Thessalonians 1:7 (NKJV)

to give relief to you who are troubled -NIV

give you relief from your troubles -CEV

Notice the word “rest”?  It is defined as to RELAX, to STOP being stressed!

That is a message we all need to hear.  When life gets tough JUST RELAX!

Be PATIENT!

The fact is, whether you want it or not, patience is a VITAL FACET of life

Now we exhort you, brethren, warn those who are unruly, comfort the fainthearted, uphold the weak, be patient WITH ALL.

1 Thessalonians 5:14 (NKJV)

The Amplified Bible says: [and] be very patient with everybody [always keeping your temper].

The Message Bible says: Be patient with each person, attentive to individual needs.

Can you imagine that, be patient with ALL???

In this instance patience is defined as longsuffering.  The picture is that of a long burning candle.

You need to EXERCISE patience, patient endurance!  There is a learning curve to patience.

God will STRENGTHEN you with his own GREAT POWER so that you will NOT GIVE UP when troubles come, but you will BE PATIENT.

Colossians 1:11 (NCV)

Let’s make this a FAITH CONFESSION

Speak the word: God will STRENGTHEN me with GREAT power.  I WILL NOT give up when trouble shows up.  I WILL BE patient!

Remember: You CAN DO all things THROUGH Christ Who STRENGTHENS you!

    Always, Always, Always BE HOPEFUL!

    Always, Always, Always BE HOPEFUL!

Faith gives SUBSTANCE to the things we hope for (Hebrews 11:1).  That is BASED on the Word of God.

Proverbs 13:12 tell us that: Hope that is deferred, that is prolonged or delayed, makes the HEART sick.  But when the dream is fulfilled it becomes a TREE of LIFE!

    Finally:

Hebrews 10:23 (NKJV) Let us hold fast the CONFESSION of our hope without wavering (seize and hold fast and retain without wavering the hope we cherish and confess and our acknowledgement of it -AMP; hold tightly to the hope -CEV; We must continue to hold firmly to our declaration of faith -GW; hold tightly without wavering to the hope we affirm -NLT), for He who promised is faithful.

(MSG) Let's keep a firm grip on the promises that keep us going. He always keeps his word.

Keep CONFESSING the WORD, hold tightly the CONFESSION of your HOPE!

    Be blessed!
