“Who Ya Gonna Call Devotional!”

When a situation arises what is the first call you are going to make?  Here is where most people make their first mistake.  They forget about priorities in life.  The first call to make is to the Lord!  He can help you, give you wisdom & favor, more than anyone else.  Call on Him & answers will come!  You can count on Him, you have His Word on it.

Jeremiah 33 “³‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know (fenced in {and} hidden, which you do not know (do not distinguish and recognize, have knowledge of and understand).-AMP).’” NKJV

“Ask me and I will tell you remarkable secrets you do not know about things to come.” NLT

“Call to me and I will answer you. I’ll tell you marvelous and wondrous things that you could never figure out on your own.’” TMB 

“Ask me, and I will tell you things that you don’t know and can’t find out.” CEV

“…pray to me, and I will answer you. I will tell you important secrets you have never heard before.’” NCV

Why are we trying to FIGURE out things on our own?  Call on the Lord & He WILL ANSWER you and show you things you never even considered!  He was there at the beginning & He will be there at the end (or consummation of all things).  

Revelation 1 “¹¹…I am the Alpha and the Omega (the A to Z), the First and the Last,”…” NKJV

Revelation 22 “¹³I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.” NKJV

In gaining answers from God we need TWO things:  Wisdom & Favor!

1. We Need WISDOM!

Psalms 111 “¹⁰Respect and obey the Lord!  This is the first step to wisdom and good sense…” CEV

So HOW is your relationship to God?  This may be the real NEED!

James 1 “⁵If any of you need wisdom, you should ask God, and it will be given to you. God is generous and won’t correct you for asking.” CEV 

What is WISDOM?  It is know WHAT to do with WHAT you know.  You don’t just need KNOWLEDGE; you need wisdom which is the practical application of knowledge.  

1. We Need FAVOR!

What we need is FAVOR not a favor.  We need the FAVOR of God or DIVINE favor.  We don’t just need to ASK God for a FAVOR but we need to begin to be aware of and walk in the FAVOR of God!

We see this favor with Mary.  Luke 1 “³⁰Then the angel said to her, ‘Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God (blessed by both God and people.-TMB).’” NKJV

And we see this favor with Jesus.  Luke 2 “⁵²And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and men (favor-charis: divine influence upon the heart-HGD; reward, benefit-Thayer’s).” NKJV

“And Jesus increased in wisdom and in years, and in divine and human favor.” NRSV

Now, after you’ve made this FIRST call you are ready to make all the following calls.  Now you have DIVINE favor working for you and you can operate in WISDOM.  When you begin to gain knowledge you can know WHAT to do with WHAT you know.  You can APPLY that knowledge in any given situation!

You’ve been CREATED for MORE!  Did you know that? 

“Then God blessed them, and God said to them, ‘Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; HAVE DOMINION OVER the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth’ (Genesis 1:28 – New King James Version, emphasis mine).”

Look at that word DOMINION.  The word Hebrew word for dominion means to “tread down”, to “prevail against” or to “rule” & “reign” (Hebrew Greek Dictionary). 

God has created us to RULE & REIGN.  That was the ORIGINAL COMMANDMENT that was given in Genesis 1.  We have been CREATED to rule over our natural circumstances NOT give into them or live UNDER the CIRCUMSTANCES.

“For if by the one man’s offense death reigned through the one, much more those who receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness WILL REIGN IN LIFE through the One, Jesus Christ (Romans 5:17, New Revised Standard Version, emphasis mine).”

As believers we can RULE & REIGN in LIFE.  The ability to do that comes through our Lord Jesus Christ.  The Greek word for reign means “to rule” or “to EXERCISE kingly power” (Thayer’s Greek Definitions).

Seek FIRST the KINGDOM of God & His righteousness & all this things will be ADDED unto you.  As you make the KINGDOM & the KING your PRIORITY then He will take care of all the things you need.

You have been created for MORE!  You are destined to rule & reign with Him.  And that assignment begins in THIS LIFE.  You’ve been created for MORE, have DOMINION over and over and over again!

What makes SUPER Sunday SUPERB?

Superbowl Sunday, it is a day relished by sports fans.  Did you know over $4 billion will be wagered on this game alone?  It is the one sport that settles the question of who is the greatest team on one day with one game.

But what makes SUPER Sunday super, or SUPERB?  Is it the football game, the excitement of a full week of broadcasts that lead up to the BIG GAME?  For many that is the answer.

But what about for believers?  What makes SUPER Sunday super or SUPERB?

The answer to that question lies in the reality of FAITH.  Without faith it’s just another day.  But with FAITH in Jesus the CHRIST, the MESSIAH, the ANOINTED ONE, it is a SUPERB, a SUPER day?  Why?  I’m glad you asked that insightful question.

Now after the Sabbath, as the first day of the week began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb…But the angel answered and said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here; for He is risen, as He said. Matthew 28:1, 5, 6 (NKJV)

Sunday is SUPER because JESUS rose from the dead!  So for the BELIEVER every SUNDAY is SUPER Sunday.

Enjoy the game, enjoy the day & ENJOY the LIFE Jesus came to give to you who would BELIEVE!

"BELIEVE on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be SAVED..." Acts 16:31 (NKJV)

Have FAITH in Jesus & you will be SAVED, you will be SAFE, you will have LIFE & LIFE greater than you ever imagined.

What makes SUPER Sunday SUPER?  It is YOUR FAITH in the SUPER SAVIOR!
