BE Submissive, Really, Really???

Obey those who rule over you, and be submissive, for they watch out for your souls, as those who must give account. Let them do so with joy and not with grief, for that would be unprofitable for you. Hebrews 13:17 (NKJV)

Really, OBEY, are you kidding?  And be submissive, what’s that all about. 

Submission goes contrary to the AMERICAN way of life.  We are taught independence and all that.

We don’t submit to dictators or dominating personalities.

The fact is that SPIRITUAL LEADERS are to be SERVANTS of all not LORDS over all!  Jesus gives us insight into being a servant leader rather than a dominator or dictator.

And He (Jesus) sat down, called the twelve, and said to them,

"If anyone desires to be first, he shall be last of all and servant of all." Mark 9:35 (NKJV)

This kind of SERVANT was first class, top notch, high level in serving!  This person would be considered an ULTIMATE professional & the best at what a servant does!

Jesus has called us to SERVE & not to be SERVED.  The attitude of submission is necessary for SUCCESSFUL Christian living!

Submit therefore to God. Resist the devil (stand firm against him -AMP) and he will flee from you. James 4:7 (NASB)

Finally & most IMPORTANTLY you are to SUBMIT to God.  As a result you will have resistance power against the devil.  You are ANOINTED to SUBMIT!  Submission means to get UNDER the MISSION of another!  Let’s get under God’s MISSION for our lives.  Let’s re-submit to Him if necessary!
